Board Member - Fred Meredith

Fred Meredith is a 1976 graduate of Belpre High School. He played football, basketball and ran track all four years of high school. Fred has volunteered in the football press box for 35 years. He retired from the Kroger Company in 2020 after 44 years of service. He has lived in Belpre his entire life, is a member of the Belpre Masonic Lodge, married to Jan Meredith, and has 2 sons JC and Austin, both of whom graduated from Belpre High School. Fred is a Master Boardsman with the Ohio School Boards Association and has served on the Belpre Board of Education for 13 years.

Vice President - Larry Lorentz

Larry Lorentz is a lifetime resident of Belpre, graduating from Belpre High School in 1967. After graduating from Ohio University, he began his career in education teaching business courses at Belpre High School. After teaching twenty-five years, Larry became the Curriculum and Technology Director for the district, serving in that capacity for eighteen years. In his early years he also coached track and football. Larry and his wife Sandy raised two children, Todd Lorentz,residing in Cypress, Texas, and Tracy Lorentz Varner who teaches fourth grade in our district. They also have three grandchildren who attend or graduated from Belpre City Schools. While Larry has continued to be active in district projects, when asked why he chose to join the board, he said “with my experience as both a teacher and administrator in the district, I hope to be able to use that knowledge and history, to serve the district in today’s ever-changing environment.

Board Member - Mollie Haught

Mollie Haught received a BA in education from Fairmont State College and a Masters from Dallas Baptist University in counseling. She has been a teacher, missionary and counselor. She is an avid reader and loves to cook, sew, and travel. Mrs. Haught began her first term on the Belpre City Schools Board of Education in January 2022. Mollie's reason for being on the board of education is to see Belpre City Schools achieve all they can to prepare the students to be good citizens of our wonderful country.

President - Mike Miller

Mike Miller is a 1974 graduate of Belpre High School. He's been an educator and coach over the past 35 years. Mike retired from Belpre City Schools after 33 years of service. Mike's father was Superintendent of Schools from 1964-1974 thus a strong influence on the career choice he made. This is Mike's 4th year serving on the Board. "I feel my experiences as a teacher and being the son of a school administrator helps me when it comes time to make Board decisions about the education of our children".

Board Member - Cathy O'Donnell

My husband Rod (a Belpre graduate) and I retired to Belpre in 2012. We are both retired educators. I have served on the school board in Belpre, since 2016, and it is a privilege to serve the students, teachers, and staff in the district. I am a strong advocate for education and believe that the value of an education cannot be measured. It is our responsibility as a board to ensure that a positive and professional plan is in place to guarantee the success of our students. Our students deserve nothing but the BEST teachers, facilities, and curriculum.
