Thank you to everyone who attended our 2nd Virtual Townhall last evening. For those of you who were unable to attend we did make a few important announcements: 1) Chromebook returns are this week. If you checked out a Chromebook for remote learning please return it to the Central Office at 2014 Rockland Ave. on either Wednesday or Thursday from 1:00 - 3:00. We need all Chromebooks returned even if you have elected to go virtual so we can sanitize, repair and re-inventory them for the new school year. 2) Bus routes. If your child is going to be dropped off in the morning but ride a bus home (or vice versa) please contact us as soon as possible at (740) 423-9511. We are in the process of creating routes and need to make space available. 3) Staggered Start. We will have a staggered start to the school year. The first week of school is August 24. On August 24 and 25 Group A students at BES (see class list for group assignment) and 7th and 9th graders will attend at BHS. On August 26 and 27 Group B students at BES and 8th and 10th graders at BHS will attend school. All students will attend on August 28 and everyday thereafter. This will allow us to orientate students to the new procedures and protocols as we prepare for a safe reopening. 4) Virtual Learners enrolled in Blue Sky Academy (students in grades 7-12) will not begin school until September 8, 2020. BES Virtual Learners will begin as normally scheduled. 5)

Thank you to everyone who attended our Virtual Townhall on Monday - at peak we had nearly 300 families participating on Facebook and YouTube! We appreciated the great questions and civility on display during our meeting. We have created a document with Answers to Unasked Questions found in Facebook comments so that families can have the answers that they need as they weigh their decision. You can access that document at https://5il.co/iszh. We anticipate having another Virtual Townhall on Monday, August 10 to announce additional details and take additional questions. We greatly appreciate your feedback as we continue to craft the best possible school year experience for your student!

We failed to communicate clearly yesterday that as part of the reopening we have pushed back the start of school to August 24, 2020. BHS and BES are going to bring back certain groups of students each day to acclimate before all students will return - we will have more details on that in early August.
