Senior Night is this Friday at the Belpre Vs. Eastern Game. Please note that this starts early because we have so many senior athletes and band members to recognize. See you at the game!

It's time once again for our annual BHS Student Council and Belpre Area Veterans Food Drive. Please consider sending in items during this week at school or at the Belpre Vs. Eastern Football game on Friday night. All donations will go toward Belpre families for the holiday season.

The Pride of Belpre had another busy weekend as they competed in the Marietta Band-O-Rama. The band performed to an enthusiastic crowd and earned the following awards: First Place Color Guard, Percussion, and Band in Class C and Overall Best Color Guard - regardless of class! Additionally, they qualified for OMEA State Finals for the second time this season. Today, the band provided entertainment for spectators at the annual Apple Butter Stir-Off in Belpre. We are thankful for all the ways the community supports this important program.

This week we have two big sectional matchups for our soccer and volleyball teams! We're trying to pack the stands for each event and really show our student athletes that we are behind them all the way! We start with the volleyball team at Federal Hocking on Tuesday evening at 7pm and then our soccer team is at home at Ralph Holder Stadium vs Eastern Winchester on Thursday evening at 6pm! Below is the information to purchase your tickets in advance. Just type Belpre in the search box and both events will be displayed. Tickets will be sold at the gate but we encourage you to get them in advance. Please make plans to come out and support our teams this week as this is what they've been working towards!
Also don't forget sandwiched around these sectional contests we have Jr High football at home on Wednesday and Varsity football at home on Friday for Senior night! It's going to be a great week to be a Golden Eagle!

The future is bright! We're really proud of you guys!
These kids aren’t moving mountains just yet but they are making noise in the valley. Took on a very big and physical Van Devender Middle school tonight. Battled toe to toe for four quarters and when the final whistle blew, our Golden Eagles rang the victory bell 26-22. So proud of the effort of this team and their determination to get better every day.

Our 5th graders visited Mrs. Hartline's farm today! They had a great time!

Field Trip Fun!

It was a great day to be a Golden Eagle! Six of our students greeted Ohio Governor Mike DeWine when he arrived for the groundbreaking of the new Women and Children's Hospital. The Pride of Belpre Marching Band provided wonderful music before, during and after the ceremony. Over 100 Belpre City School students attended the festivities and represented their community well.
Special thank you to the Belpre City Council and Mayor Susan Abdella for all their leadership to insure the local infrastructure needed to operate the hospital will be in place. Rep. Jay Edwards also worked tirelessly to secure the investment needed to make today happen. We are also grateful to the Belpre City Police Department for working with all the necessary assets to ensure a safe and productive day. Belpre Pride!

Today was a great day for the Pride of Belpre Marching Band. They competed at Athens High School and earned first place color guard, percussion and band in Class C. Later in the day, the band competed at Warren High School and earned first place percussion and band in Class C and best overall percussion in Class B and C combined. On top of that, the band qualified for OMEA State Competition for the 4th year in a row! Way to go Pride of Belpre!

Thank you to the Washington County Career Center for hosting our first graders today.

One last walk up the 18th fairway for Carson Moore to end his Belpre golf career. To say it was a great career would be an understatement. Carson shot a 3 over par 75 to finish 3 strokes back of the state tournament. During his senior season Carson broke the all time scoring record for the TVC, while being a leader and mentoring a very young team that all look up to him. While his high school golf career is over his next golf career is just beginning. We're all proud of you Carson and the way you represented Belpre High School! Now get ready for basketball season!

The Friday Option at BHS is already showing huge educational returns! We have students in long term internships, enrolled in credentialed programs, taking almost weekly field trips around the area, being role models and educators at the elementary school, and so much more. We want to thank all of our partners around the area for helping us provide awesome experiences for the students at BHS. This is what our portrait of a graduate is all about!

Last week our BHS Homecoming came to a close with the crowning of our royalty, Sadie Ketterman and Michael Bills. Court members included seniors Haley Alloway, Kacy Hahn, Avery Varner, Austin Jenkins, Johnny Miller, and Luke Davis. Juniors Mariah Bledsoe and Riley White. Sophomores Lila Dugan and Nathan Tippie. Freshmen Jenny Hart and Brayden McDaniel. Crown Bearers Khloe Rogers and Cam Cyran.
It was a tight race between the classes for points for the year long Clash of the Classes with the Senior class coming out on top!
Thanks to all students who took part in a fun week of school spirit.

The cooler temps and an overcast sky made for a great race day at Cambridge High School today. The high school boys competed in the small school division and were led by medalist Johnny Miller (5th place). The high school girls raced in the large school division so that they could make it back in time for homecoming preparations. The girls team finished 6th overall (out 12 teams). The junior high runners all ran very strong today too with several great finishes. Deegan Haines, Lydia Stevens, and Ellie Whitlatch all earned medals. Ellie along with Tanner Bills, Ava Colvin, Bella Marshall, Mia Holliday, and Sianna Barber clocked personal best times today. CREATING NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR BHS!

Our Golden Eagles jr high football team traveled to Stewart to take on the Federal Hocking Lancers last night. Several players contributed in the 36-8 win. Mason Baxter rushed for 1 touchdown, and threw for 2 to Jimmy Bailey. Baxter also scored a two point conversion and intercepted a pass taking it back for a “pick-6” touchdown. Joey Lockhart scored a rushing touchdown and lead the team on the ground with some hard nosed running and blocking. Gavin Snyder added several rushing yards as well. Ciajah Bell and Tanner Snyder each added two point conversions to the scoring. The defense was lead up front by Tyler Delancy (QB sack), Conner Lewis, Noah Tanner, Cameron Roush, Sawyer Harpold, Bryce Bowman, and Bell. Lockhart and Bailey had several tackles at linebacker and Jimmie Staats was pivotal as a blitzing linebacker causing havoc in the backfield all night. T. Snyder, Baxter, and G. Snyder added several tackles on the edge playing in the secondary. Copied from the Belpre Jr High Football page #FlyEaglesFly #BelprePride #TheFutureIsBright Next game: Oct. 10 vs Van Devender
