Mrs. McBride's first grade class is acting out several historical events including Paul Revere's Ride, the Surrender at Yorktown, Battle of Lexington, Crossing the Delaware, Betsy Ross sewing the flag, and Patriot Women.
Another busy night at Civitan Park as both the varsity baseball and softball teams were in action this evening!
The ladies faced a really tough River Valley team that we've been unable to crack recently. We dropped a close 3-1 decision behind another solid outing from Makayla Carmichael who struck out 6. It was a tough night at the dish for the ladies other than an absolute bomb over the left field fence from Lucy Ruble, her 3rd of the season. Chins up ladies, we'll get it back tomorrow night.
The boys had more success in their River Valley battle with an 11-1 mercy win! Derek Liston was dominant on the mound, only allowing 1 hit and 1 unearned run while striking out 6 in the complete game victory. At the plate we were led by a trio of batters with 2 RBI's (Chris Copen, Adrik McLaughlin, and Johnny Miller) with Copen scoring 3 runs and Blake Church scoring 2. Great game tonight gentlemen!

A huge couple of nights in the world of Belpre Sports! Starting with our Jr High Boys splitting a double header with Tyler Consolidated on the diamond yesterday. The boys dropped game one by a 7-3 deficit. Carson Woodford allowed no runs in 2 innings, striking out 5 while only giving up 1 hit. At the plate we got 1 rbi each, from Woodford, AJ Copen, and Mason Baxter. In game 2 Copen had a really strong outing going 5 innings, striking out 9 and scattering 2 hits and 3 runs, to pick up the win. Offensively the guys remained patient and disciplined by drawing 10 walks. Driving in runs for the Golden Eagles were Colten Gibbs, Joey Lockhart, Evan Lyons, Logan Norman, and Mason Baxter. Nice job fellas! The future is bright!

Finally, we will be back in action on Thursday April 18th for our first home track meet in a decade!!! Please come out and cheer us on!
I would also like to take a second to appreciate Kaitlin. This girl goes so far above what is required of her job every single day. She is an extremely important part of our program and far more than just our trainer. Thanks Kaitlin!

Through the district’s partnership with Artbridge, The Children’s Theater of Cincinnati came and presented the story of The Wild West Cinderella to K-3 students. The audience, third grade students, and Mr. Watson all helped to put on a wonderful performance for students! Thank you, Artsbridge for this opportunity to connect the fairy tales students are reading in the classroom with a real life production.
🚨 Important Announcement 🚨
Due to technical issues with the Ohio State Testing portal, today's testing is postponed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Details on rescheduling will be communicated directly from your principal. Thank you for your understanding!
Dear Parents,
Today, we were slated to begin state testing. Unfortunately, the platform used for testing across the state of Ohio was experiencing problems. In addition, they were unable to give an ETA for when the system would be up and running. Rather than spend the day waiting for it to be resolved we made the call to postpone testing until tomorrow. It is very unfortunate to prepare for this day and there be issues outside of our control. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding while we wait for the problem to be resolved. If the system is not fixed by tomorrow we will update you on the testing schedule.
