Quite an eventful weekend for all of our cross country runners, both past and present!
Fantastic cross country weather and runs for our varsity teams at the Mason Ohio Invitational this weekend. Nearly 40 teams in attendance. The girls placed 15th overall and the boys 17th. Johnny Miller medaled with a finish of 16th place. Lila Dugan, Addy Stewart, Brayden McDaniel, Paxton Hudnall-Bolian, and Noah Garbo all ran personal best times. Austin Jenkins ran a season best time as well. These runners represented Belpre with pride! 🧡🖤
Meanwhile our Jr High cross country team competed at Fort Frye. The girls team placed a solid 4th out of 7 teams and Ellie Whitlatch medaled! The following athletes set new personal records: Ellie Whitlatch, Bailey Gruber, Bella Marshall, Ava Colvin, Mia Holiday, and Sianna Barker. Lydia Stevens, Gabby Cambell, and Harper Rogers ran their best times of the season.
On the boys side, we were down a few runners and unable to place as a team. That didn’t stop the guys from running great times as Landon McCrady, Tanner Bills, and Aidyn Baxter all set new personal records, and Deegan Haines just missed a PR by a few seconds.
Blake Rodgers also crushed his first collegiate race. With his time of 15:13, he not only finished 7th overall (169 runners in the race), he led his team to a second place finish (missing first by 1 point), and set a Wright State record for freshman 5K.

Due to a bus driver shortage, we had to combine routes. Bus 4 and bus 20 will be riding bus 18 this afternoon. Drop off times may be affected. Thank you for understanding and have a great weekend.
Super busy night in the world of Belpre High School athletics! Starting off with Carson Moore breaking the all time TVC scoring record with a 1 over par 35 at Lakeside Golf Course. Unbelievable career for Carson so far! Keep grinding kid! Next to soccer where our Golden Eagles beat Caldwell 4-0 to remain unbeaten on the season! We were led by Dalton Lemon with 2 goals and 1 each from Preston Foss and Joshua Hess! Great season so far! Let's keep it rolling! Finally volleyball dropped a tough 3-1 loss at TVC leader Southern, handing them only their second lost set of the season! Liv Harrington and Khloe Cooper were stars of the game! Keep working girls, things are about to turn around! Really great job to all of our athletes tonight! We're really proud of each of you!!

Couple of tough games for our Golden Eagles tonight. Volleyball just didn't have their best stuff in dropping a tough 3-1 match at Trimble. Soccer played to a 1-1 tie with Wood County Christian to pause the win streak but still remain unbeaten at 3-0-1.
Both teams return to action Thursday with soccer taking on Caldwell at home and volleyball traveling to Southern. Keep your chins up ladies and gentlemen...adversity makes us stronger! Let's get back after them Thursday! Let's go!

The event will include an opportunity to learn more about the moon and view the moon through a high-powered telescope and NASA live stream. Participants should bring a blanket for moon gazing. Moon maps will be provided.
The Belpre XC Invitational is in two short weeks, Saturday, September 14th. We are looking for volunteers to help make this year’s meet a success. We need help with course set up on Friday, September 13th. This usually only takes a few hours in the morning. We are also looking for course monitors— people to stand along the course on Saturday to make sure the runners are following the correct path. If you’d be interested in helping out in any way, please comment below. Thank you, Belpre XC supporters!!

I would like to give parents an update from Belpre Elementary School. As you know, our AC units have been struggling since the recent thunderstorm. As a result, we decided to operate on a 2 hour early dismissal again today, August 30. There have been calls from parents concerned about the temperature in our classrooms.
As of 9:00 a.m., both units are operating as they should and temperatures in the rooms are not climbing. We will continue to monitor the temperatures and will move students to cooler spaces if necessary.
We are still operating under a 2 hour early release schedule but wanted parents to know that both air conditioning units are now operational.
We hope everyone has a safe, enjoyable Labor Day weekend.
Shane Freshour
Principal
Unfortunately, after a promising repair, our AC system at Belpre Elementary failed again this evening. Accordingly, due to the high temperatures, Belpre Elementary will operate on a two-hour early release schedule Friday, August 30, 2024. Belpre High School and the preschool will operate as normal.
Our air conditioning unit at Belpre Elementary School has been experiencing technical difficulties which were compounded by a loss of electricity during last night's storm. We have crews on site working to repair the issue but we are not confident we will be able to maintain classrooms at an appropriate temperature for learning. Belpre Elementary School will be releasing early today August 29, 2024 at 12:30. This change in schedule will not impact Belpre High School or the preschool which will run as scheduled. We are optimistic that we will have repairs in place in time for school tomorrow but we will update parents by 7:00 pm this evening on a final decision. We apologize for the inconvenience and we are working diligently to resolve the issue.
Tonight's home soccer match vs Wellston is being moved back 1 hour to a 7pm start time. Come out and support these athlete as they look to go 3-0!
