
Congratulations to Belpre Elementary 5th grader Enzo Astorga-Schmike for winning the Marietta Times Regional Spelling Bee. With the victory, Enzo has earned the right to travel to Washington D.C to compete in the Scripps National Bee on May.


Members of the Belpre City Schools chess club were recognized at last night's board meeting. The club, in its second year, continues to attract new members and gain experience. Special thanks to faculty advisor Adam Greene for nurturing these students!

Nine Lighthouse Team leaders and alumni from 6th and 7th grade traveled to WVUP to volunteer at the Artsbridge Very Spectacular Arts Festival on Wednesday. The annual festival brings between 250-500 students with special needs from Washington, Wood, Wirt, Pleasants, Jackson, Doddridge and Roane Counties for a day of hands-on arts experiences including painting, singing, dancing and STEAM learning.

Good morning BHS families! Third term report cards for students in grades 7-12 are available on the student and parent portals on Infinite Campus at this time. As a reminder, College Credit Plus grades are not available until the end of the college semester in May and will not appear on the report card. If you would like a hard copy of the report card printed out, please have your student stop by one of the main offices or call 740-423-3000.

The Belpre Botany and Gardening Clubs visited Bob's Market & Greenhouse, Inc. to learn about careers in agriculture during Green Career Week. Our students work year-round learning about hydroponics and greenhouse growing. They manage hundreds of plants from seed to sale each year.


Belpre Elementary would like to thank the numerous volunteers who came to read and share about careers with our students. We appreciate all of you so much! We look forward to more volunteers next year.

Belpre City School has early dismissal today, March 7, Belpre Elementary will dismiss at 1:00 p.m The Middle School and Belpre High School will dismiss at 1:20 p.m.. Parent teacher conferences in the district will begin at 2 p.m. Lost and found items at the elementary will be on the tables in the cafeteria during parent teacher conferences. Unclaimed items will be donated. No School tomorrow, March 8 for Belpre City Schools.
