Our Belpre girls dropped a tough one to South Webster last night in sectional action. The girls fought hard the entire game and showed a ton of effort. After falling behind early they were able to fight their way back and tie it after 3 quarters to eventually lose by 6. Really proud of Coach Leftwich and the girls for a solid first season together. The future is definitely looking bright as we only graduate 1 senior. Really looking forward to the next few years and the direction of this program! Great season ladies! #GOEAGLES #BELPREPRIDE

In August 2023, a Math Adoption Committee was formed and led by Director of Teaching and Learning, Ally Trew and composed of a diverse group of K-12 teachers of math. The District Math Adoption Committee has met semi-monthly since August.
Research shows that providing teachers with high-quality instructional materials to support their teaching helps increase student learning. When teachers have great instructional materials, they can focus their time, energy , and creativity on meeting the diverse needs of students and helping each of them all learn and grow. In collaboration with other districts around the state, the Ohio Valley Educational Service Center, as well as learning about the conceptual understanding which allows students to form a flexible, coherent body of math knowledge and provides a foundation for connecting new ideas to what they already know– the team was able to create a vision for what was needed in a curriculum.
These second grade students pictured below participated in two lessons from two different curriculum companies and were given the opportunity to provide feedback to the committee.
The District Math Adoption Committee will make a recommendation to the Belpre Board of Education. The Board will vote next month on the much anticipated adoption. The adoption committee will transition to an implementation team and build an implementation framework to help support the rollout of this new curriculum. We are excited for all students to experience new lessons and new assessments next school year!
